S11, globalisation and the Australian media

| note: this is the only photo or footage where the protestor on the caris identified as the Western Australian Aboriginal activist Ian Wyatt-Ring (the only exception being on p.2 of the Herald Sun where he is named only), even though he was used in every Australian newspaper looked at in this study, as well as every television news report of 11/9. Every television report even included his tirades over directed at Richard Court concerning mandatory sentencing laws in W.A., as well as his quotes to reporters that he was placing him "under citizens arrest", but he wasn't named or identified as being from W.A., stealing the deeper relevance of his actions. |
