Our organisation is responsible for promoting the conservation, repair and wise use of wetlands across Australia. It does this in collaboration with all levels of government, industry and community members. It is also responsible for advising on the implementation of the Convention on Wetlands, policy, legislation and programs.

The Australian wetlands web site provides information about Australia's obligations under the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971). It also provides information and guidance about the importance of the Commonwealth's Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) to the protection of wetlands.

Information for teachers is available from this website, including....

Articles and papers for the scientific community are freely accessible as well as information on current research projects, innovations and funding.
